FAQS
-
The Hummingbird PR-1 is a modular preroll and blunt filling machine designed for cannabis manufacturers that need flexible, repeatable production without a complicated all-in-one system.
Using centrifugal force, the PR-1 helps create consistent density while supporting a wide range of products, including traditional prerolls, infused prerolls and straight blunt tubes.
The system is designed to be simple to operate, easy to clean and flexible enough to support different cone sizes, materials, strains and production workflows.
-
With one trained operator, the Hummingbird PR-1 can typically produce approximately 2,200–2,700 finished prerolls per 8-hour shift, depending on cone size, material, grind, product format and the operator’s workflow.
When the PR-1 is paired with the Finisher 2.0, production can increase to 5,000+ dutch-crowned prerolls per shift.
Actual output will vary by SKU and material consistency. Grind size, moisture content and flower quality can all affect production performance, so repeatable inputs and dialed-in SOPs matter.
-
Yes. The Hummingbird PR-1 can handle both non-infused and infused preroll material, including products where flower has been blended with concentrates before filling.
Because infused material can vary widely in texture, stickiness, particle size and moisture content, each product should be dialed in with the appropriate pod, fill setup and SOP. The modular Hummingbird workflow makes it easier to adjust for different infused formulations without changing the entire production system.

The Hummingbird PR-1 is designed for simple maintenance and easy cleaning. Stainless steel surfaces and removable components help minimize downtime and make routine upkeep straightforward.
For day-to-day production, operators should clean product-contact areas regularly and follow established SOPs when changing strains, infused formulations or product types. Proper cleaning helps maintain consistent performance and reduces the risk of cross-contamination.
-
Yes. The Hummingbird PR-1 is CE and ISO certified and is designed to meet applicable international safety and quality standards.
The PR-1 operates from a standard 120V electrical outlet in the U.S. For international installations or specific facility requirements, contact Hummingbird before ordering so we can confirm the appropriate configuration.
-
Yes. Every Hummingbird system includes training and support to help operators get up and running quickly. The equipment was designed by experienced cannabis operators to be straightforward to learn, operate and maintain.
We help customers establish their initial production workflow, dial in SOPs for their products, and troubleshoot issues as they come up. Your User Guide is also included as a reference for setup, operation and maintenance.

Generally, sometimes. Hummingbird is built around a growing library of proven pod formats and production setups rather than one-off custom tooling for every request.
If you have a new cone, blunt tube or specialty format, we’re happy to look at it and determine whether it fits within the existing Hummingbird system.
Its a definitely no if you’re part of the Canna Chad family.
Not sure what that means? Meet the Canna Chad.

The right Hummingbird setup depends on what you make, how many SKUs you run, your preferred cone or blunt formats, your production volume and how much of the workflow you want to automate.
We can help you compare the PR-1, Finisher 2.0, Pod System and blunt tube workflow based on your current production process and future growth plans.
